The team

The Cleft Surgery Organisation was founded in 2001 by dr Bart van de Ven.

The surgical team nowadays consists of dr. Robert van Es and dr. Nard Janssen, both are maxillofacial surgeons in the Utrecht University Medical Centre and is extended with various cleft surgeons from the Netherlands and Belgium.

The anesthesiology team's backbone consists of Henk and Yvonne Geerlings (anesthesiology nurses) who work in several hospitals in and around Amersfoort and dr. Thierry Scohy, an anesthesiologist in the Amphia Ziekenhuis Breda. 

All doctors and team members donate their time (and often materials and other supplies) to the organisation free of charge. Nobody receives any wage or other remuneration.
